New Cholula Hot Sauce

My all time favorite brand of Mexican hot sauce, Cholula, now has a chipotle version appropriately named Cholula Salsa Chipotle.

The chipotle adds a nice smokey flavor that’s hot but not too hot. Regular Cholula is similar to Tabasco but with a less pronounced vinegar taste and the vinegar flavor is even less pronounced in the chipotle version.

Cholula Hot Sauce with Chipotle

I love both versions on scrambled eggs which is my favorite way to use it but I happily put either one on anything that I would put salsa on which is just about everything.

I won’t be giving up the regular version which is still my first choice but the chipotle version is a nice change of pace.

The wooden cap on the bottle adds a touch a class. I know it really doesn’t have anything to do with the flavor but somehow it sems to make the salsa taste even better.

Where to Buy Cholula Hot Sauce
Many grocery stores in the West and Southwest carry Cholula salsas. I don’t know about other parts of the country but I would expect to find it in any store that carries a decent selection of imported products.

If you can’t find it at your local grocery store you can order it through Amazon.com. Get Some Cholula Mexican Hot Sauce.

Cholula has a good website in English. Their tagline is “The Flavorful Fire.” I like it.

My Favorite Mexican Hot Sauce – Cholula

My absolute favorite brand of Mexican hot sauce is Salsa Cholula from Chapala. It’s made from chiles de arbol, a fiery dried red chile. The label says that “it has the authentic flavor of Mexican salsa.” I agree.

I put it on everything. To me it tastes similar to Tabasco hot sauce, but less vinegary. Try it on scrambled eggs or huevos a la Mexicana. It makes the best breakfast ever.

Where to Buy Cholula Hot Sauce

Salsa Cholula hot sauce is easy to find at the grocery store, at least in some parts of the U.S. Most grocery stores in California carry it. And, I believe they carry it in Texas also. Look for it next time you are at the grocery store. A new addition to the line is Cholula hotsauce with Chipotle, another winner. If you are lucky you might be able to find it too.

If you can’t find Cholula at your local grocery store you can order it through Amazon.com. Order Some Cholula Mexican Hot Sauce. Cholula has a good website in english to find out more about it.
